yup this car's a hit in india... and in this economy its a good time to come into north america... honestly

q0192837465 03-24-2009 11:51 AM

i'd bus than drive this car.

But I can definitely see the appeal in developing countries. At least it'll be safer than riding a bike. Then again, I doubt safety is a concern in those places where human lives r expendable.

CRiXy 03-24-2009 01:06 PM

Actually I'd much rather drive this POS than take the bus. Transit in the GVRD sucks ass. This thing is still cheaper than a 50cc scooter and will keep you warm. Just make sure you bring your iPod and some portable speakers with you, haha!

tool001 03-24-2009 01:49 PM

they will be adding a few things to make it legal in NA market
india's auto market is hotter than any other country in the world, and much more room to grow. of course it will cause prob with traffic and poll. but then again they have a right to pollute the world as much as u do. ;)

tamiya_s2000 03-24-2009 02:48 PM

i dont care wat y'all say
2k for a new dd...
jus get a new 1 if i fuck it up lol

!Tigger 03-24-2009 04:36 PM

insurance will cost more than the value of the car.

twitchyzero 03-24-2009 09:57 PM

i'd drive this in the winter rather then taking the bus..only if insurance is under $50/mo

slammer111 03-25-2009 02:55 AM

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if this car polluted LESS per km than most cars in developed countries.

Yes, they did away with welds and used adhesives. Then again, many structural components of BMWs are also glued on, believe it or not. I believe the roof for the 3-series is one of them. Modern glues are surprisingly strong.

I remember my EI buddy once told me he asked his cousin (who lived in India) what his dream car would be if he had unlimited $$$$, and the cousin said it would be a.. *insert drum roll here* Ford Escort. :lol

... unless it's a cosworth he's referring to ;)

this is precisely the problem with this car, they are making it so a greater number of people that could never afford a car now can. As one of the biggest countries in the world the environmental impact will be huge let alone the demand for oil going up substantially. I'm curious to see what other problems will arise from this.

^ do you know scooters and other motorcycles do not have catalyze converter, it pollutes our air much worse than a car, and a lot of poorly maintained bikes do not get 50mpg.

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-25-2009 08:55 AM

33hp hmmmm

how the hell am i gonna climb up SFU?

going at 20km redlining at 3500rpm? lol

hell i cant even merge in hwy, even if the car behind me is 500m away they will still rear end me due to the speed im tryin to merge with my foot down pedal to the metal.

Ya but try taking your family anywere on a bike.

The Nano is a lot safer than a scooter and no one in India would rather take the bus than drive a Nano.

I also bet this will be the most customized car in India.

Though I think it will be "right" for its target market.

ajax 04-04-2009 09:06 PM

have you ever rode on a bus in india? its scary, the bus seems like its going to fall apart and second. I'd much rather drive this even if it means staying to the left of the road and feel much safer than being with a crazy bus driver.

I actually remember back when I went to vietnam when I was a kid, we were driving around with 4 people on a scooter!
