Like any subwoofer, they sound best in a custom made enclosure with good, clean power to them. Its difficult to make a sub sound crappy if you spend the time and money to set things up properly. If you cut corners, stick it in any old box and slap a cheap amp on it, it probably won't sound great.

The Premier subs are not regarded as SQ subs. But for the price they are usually not too bad. They play quite loud, are affordable, and sound decent for your usual everyday music. If you're a guy that listens to more acoustic music, then I would suggest something a little nicer.

If you plan on getting into the custom stuff, I would recommend buying a better sub before spending hundreds on a custom box.

How much is your friend selling them to you for?

i would agree, they are nothing remarkable, a budget sub, but most people arnt big on the sq its just the thump and any thump in a thumpless car changes there world. depending on the unit he is trying to sell you its value is around 60-110ish depending on the grade of it. i had a premier 10" as my first sub, i was new to the world of car audio and was quite impressed as i did not know better.
