Is this a problem?
 

Was changing my winter tires back to all-seasons and noticed this. The rubber surrounding the brake line (I think it's the brake line, I'm not very good with car tech :p ) is broken. Is this a problem? Thanks in advance!


edit: I just noticed, it looks like the springs are a little rusty too, is that normal?

and if you drive the car in winter, then yea it's normal for the rust. it's just surface rust.

You can bend the brake line so its back in the middle of the hole. Don't bend too much so that you put a kink in the line though. The concern would be if the brake line rubs against the edge of the hole long enough, it could start to leak.
Looks like some of the coating has rubbed of the spring. Won't be a problem. At least not for many many years.

Don't worry about the springs.

DO worry about the brake line rubbing against the metal edge of the hole. Insulate it somehow; that's my advice.

dissimilar metal can cause rust.. basically I think it is rusting because the powercoat flaked off and exposed bare metal. Shouldn't there be plastic gasket to prevent contact?
