Ummm...clearly it'll only be in Cantonese and Punjabi. Actually, at the rate things are going now, it'll probably be in Mandarin. Only. :p

monkeywrench 03-26-2009 09:02 PM

how many mainlanders and hongers that you know take the skytrain?

c-lais only clog up roads.

+Kardboard+ 03-26-2009 09:40 PM

Crap, good point LOL

They don't need to ride the SkyTrain. They just own it. "Queen of Shanghai," not "Queen of Beaverton" anymore. They bought it allll...with cash.

Out of the 38 reply in here, more than half of those mentioned HK =)

TOPEC 03-26-2009 10:47 PM

they should stick with another sea creature that starts with O.
for example oyster card for london and octopussy for hk, but i cant come up with something else thats sea and starts with O haha.

obama card!!!
since everyone loves him so much, im pretty sure he wouldnt mind representing the sea world

hk20000 03-27-2009 04:09 AM

If we take the HK model the faring system would be MUCH more reasonable. Each transaction involves a start and end point and the price would be reduced accordingly. So my ride from Richmond Center to Lansdowne would be different than if I ride from Richmond Center to Walmart on no.9 on the 410. Which makes all the fucking sense and encourage the short trip riders.

Short trips are short and in the system right now it's easily cheaper to drive than to bus if I want to take short trips. And short trips are worst for the environment because your car takes time to warm up and the emission system is not running at its best performance, and then when you get there your engine is just left there sitting to cool down and that's energy fucking wasted.

Oxymoron card would make short trips on a bus more of a daily routine.

I wish. I have PayPass on my MasterCard and the only places that ever support AND have it working are the Petro-Canadas. I go to Tim Hortons at least once a day, they have it, but it's never working. OR they purposely unplug it because some customers think that it's OMG SO DANGEROUS NO TOUCH TRANSACTIONS.

Frickin' Cro-Magnons.

achiam 03-28-2009 01:08 AM

FINALLY.
Its odd how the HK card is the Octopus, and the London card is the Oyster.
Perhaps Vancouver should name it the Beaver or the Eagle or something
