That's honestly a LOT of money those anchors are making...I would have thought the good ones(Bill Good) would make something around mid-150k(not more) and the normal ones make 60-90k..(Coleen Christie/Tamara Taggart)

Never would I have imagined most of them making 200k+ that's INSANE!! They're usually on-air for an hour for 5days a week and they make THAT much...CRAZY!

Adding the fact that most of them have other gigs and sponsorships. I'm sure a lot of people would hire them for exposure and to MC the event.(IE: Brian Jessel BMW Gala)

I know the national news anchors in the states ( equivalent of Peter Mansbridge ) gets $10-$15 million per year.

Their jobs are a lot more than just that one hour. They have to do production meetings, spend time in makeup and wardrobe... most of them actually have to know and understand the news they're reporting, BEFORE they go on-air. Think of all the weird names and terms they have be able to pronounce properly for the camera - that takes preparation as well. It's not like they just throw on some clothes, drive to the studio, walk in the door, sit in the chair, do their hour, and then go straight home.

Ever watch the weekend news? Kristi Gordon is on there doing the weather on Saturdays too... and keep in mind she does noon, evening, and late newscasts most weekdays as well. That adds up to a LONG day, even if she goes home in between (how would you like to commute three times a day??)

I noticed Mi Jung Lee's name in the Watchmen credits... playing a reporter, of course :) A lot of news personnel do TV and movie bit-parts reprising their day jobs :)

I seem to remember Tony Parson's salary is $2 million/year. It was in the Vancouver Sun a few years ago.

Not really. I've met pamela martin a couple of times and tamara taggart (I might've offended her by telling she looked like the weather lady, idk) but I didn't care enough for a picture/autograph. They're too local.

You guys also have to factor in the experience that guys like Ron McLean, Peter Mansbridge and Tony Parsons brings to the table.

They're not people that have 5 years experience and are making that much dough. They've been in the industry for decades.
