What do you guys think about www.gthid.com kits??

Any HID "conversion kit" is illegal and unsafe. In the US the sellers are liable for a fine of $10,000 per unit sold. Do a google for "Daniel Stern lighting" and look at their FAQ's on HId conversions and save yourself grief.

Thanks for the info, so are many mods that revscene members make to their vehicles. Much more then increased lighting...But if you look at this from another perspective such as pedestrians, wildlife, drivers with no tail lights on, on the road i'm sure you'd, along with anyone else, would like to see the road ahead.

I have factory HID's in my own car and love them. I hate getting blinded by cars with "conversions". Very seldom will this happen to factory systems..and it should not because the stock factory setup (not the blinding blue/overwatt aftermarket bulbs) had to be non-blinding before leaving the factory.

I hear you and it bothers me too for sure. As long as the lights are white, and are aimed properly it shouldn't be such a major issue with the law. Something else that some people may not think of is that if the vehicle is loaded down in the rear or suspension is modified then the headlight angle will be higher and the headlights should be re-aimed.

A long as the lights are LEGAL, white and are properly aimed, isn't a major issue. Aiming for oncoming traffic is only part of the problem. Beam control for the driver to actually see properly themselves is an equally major concern.

so what will the ticket look like if a cop was to pull over a HID offender?
i saw a ek civic getting raped by cops last night and he had bright bright HIDs

catalin 03-29-2009 09:54 PM

I'm sure it was more then just the HID that attracted that cop. But then again if the lights aren't aimed properly are really are that obnoxious then he/she deserved the ticket.
