need sub and amp recommendation

I've been out of the loop for a long time. Im currently planning on getting a new car soon and looking for something smaller. I currently have a 12" JL Sub with a Pionner amp around 10 years old. I'm looking at getting a 10" this time as I dont need crazy loud bass anymore. My Budget is under $500. I listen to mostly Rap and R&B some rock. All input or alternatives will be appreciated.

I was look at these for the amp

JBL GTO3501 http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...gon=&langid=EN

Pionneer http://www2.visions.ca/catalogue/cat...9;&menuLevel=2

Alpine http://www2.visions.ca/catalogue/cat...9;&menuLevel=2

For the Sub

JL10W1V2 (I pretty sure I have the the 12W1V1 right now)

Come to SoundsGood. We'll show you what could be good in your car for that price.

What would you suggest that you sell?

You're right. I just realized it was babybluegsr I was thinking.

For $500 I would maybe suggest looking in the buy/sell section. You'd probably get something a little nicer sounding in that price range.

If you insist on new Alpine makes some decent entry level product. I would suggest getting a better sub than the W1V2, you'll end up upgrading in a matter of months. Something in the 300 RMS range is always good. Always better to spend a little more to get something you will enjoy for a long time, rather than buy something based solely on price than wanting something better. You lose more money that way. Believe me, I think everyone in this section has been through it. That's how we get into the industry. lol
