$4000 for a parkbench.

If you don't find that interesting, there's some pictures of Sasha Singleton and Christine Mendoza (I think) in the gallery you can fap to. I know I just did.

Besides the fact that it looks hideous, it actually seems pretty cool... I wonder how noisy the motor is in the wing.

TOPEC 03-30-2009 03:07 PM

looks very flimsy, then again the ones on planes look flimsy too.

Todd Martinez 03-30-2009 03:15 PM

The_AK 03-30-2009 05:29 PM

if F1 doesn't put that on the race cars, then it's not beneficial.

SolidPenguin 03-30-2009 10:05 PM

Well, F1 has size and other restrictions that dont allow things like this on the cars. That doesnt mean its not beneficial.

That'd be true if it was an unlimited no restrictions racing series. But to keep things 'interesting' they've pretty much made the ones from the 80s but with a few caveats here and there.

That being said, that wing is hideous and would only be suitable for someone who's seriously trying to squeeze out the best laptimes and would be willing to try anything.

WRONG.

F1 does feature the same system. It is not automated but drivers can control the front wing angle during the race. They re-introduce this adjustable wing design in 2009 season.
