My friend just got bit by a neighbor's dog. Neighbor denys and didnt even apologize or show any care to her injury. I told her to go to hospital in case of rabies. The dog owner was holding his dog in a leash, but dog was too strong and charged into my friend dragging its owner behind.

What is the next step?? I am suspecting these people are drug dealers. Who in the right mind would not even attend to someone's injury especially its from their own dog. Instead they deny and walked back to their house and took the dog.

They might be high on something.!

Honestly, if the injury isn't that bad, just ignore it and try to avoid those people as much as you can. No point trying to fuck with people who you think are drug dealers.

did he at least tell you frd if the dog has been vaccined?

what kind of dog is it? i wouldn't be so quick to judge someone as a drug dealer. some dogs need help due to lack of training and owners not knowing what they got into when they get a powerful breed. some owners just need help like this one here.

Report it to animal control or spca, maybe they'll be able to do something about it.

I would get that stuff checked out by doctor if it broke skin.

report it to spca. if the dog has bit someone it would auto catergorize as dangerous dog and the owner is require to get it register as a dangerous dog. I doubt the owner have done that. once a classifield as dangerous dog the dog needs to be contain and under control at all time, and i was told by my dog's trainer that one more incident of biting to the point of drawing blood SPCA can forcefully put down the dog.

i know because my dog has bite someone before 2 years ago and has got in vicous dog fights before and is classfield as dangerous dog becuz of that even though he is very well trained now I don't let him have unsupervise time with stranger or dogs now. and no i wasn't a douche, i left all contact information and i let the person know my dog has been vaccinated. the wound require stitches and the person was compensated for.

I believe all dogs and owners deserve second chance. My trainer made me realize it was my wrong training technique that cause my dog to be trigger happy. I have since change technique and my dog is one of the best behaving dog i have seen. I would be hella piss if 2 yr ago the guy didn't give me and my dog a second chance, call it in and had my dog put down.

The reason the person took off so quickly is because the dog has done this before. Report the situation to the SPCA in the area. If the bite broke skin definitely get it looked at by a doctor, who will probably give your friend a tetanus <sp> shot and a rabies shot as you do not know the history on the dog.

It does not mean the people are drug dealers all you and your friend know now is that they are not responsible pet owners.

There is no such thing as "a" rabies shot... they are a series of shots given directly into the stomach... not fun. The chance of the dog having rabies is slim to none however tell your friend to call animal control and file a complaint.

That is correct it's a series of shot. What others I know have done is just get the first done, then just wait and see. Rabies is slim, and as such not something that has to be done. I would recommend the Tetanus shot though if it hasn't been done in the past ten years.

Update: tetanus shot was done at the ER. She is still debating whether to file a report or not because she is afraid to piss off these people if they are indeed drug dealers or criminals.

She should at least make a report to the SPCA. That way if the dog is reported again they can act upon it.

call the police. they'll decide whether it's an spca issue or whether she can pursue criminal charges against the owner. of course, if it's just a nip and not a serious bodily injury, then they'll most likely refer you to the spca.

Report it to the SPCA because it might not be the first time that dog has biten. Correct me if I'm wrong but each dog has a 3 strike rule. If this is the first time the dog has biten, then the owner won't even get a slap on the wrist. 3 attacks THEN categorize the dog as DANGEROUS, then it's put down.

Just watched that clip for the first time. the lady claims "it's not my fault" , I'm sorry but it is. Why would you take an aggressive dog like that out to a busy area like a playground/park. It just peeves me off having heard this before. Who the hecks fault do they think it is. The other person for living/being there *rolls eyes*

That's like turning around after hitting someone with your car and saying it's not my fault it's the cars, I tell everybody to look out, it hits.

Nice, I wish I did that when some ladies dogs bit me well trying to get at my dog. I still have scars on my leg from the bites. The best of all was according to her it was my dogs fault because he was on a leash.....ya just how it reads, her dogs were loose and my dog was leashed. Apparantly her dogs that she can't control get aggressive when around other dogs who are leashed. It was like arguing with a retard, at the time I was so flustered and stunned I walked away without getting her information or calling the cops.

update!, neighbor and 10yr daughter saw the same dog wandering in their yard today with out a leash. They threw rocks at it to scare it away.

I can't imagine what is the daughter was alone playing in the yard.

These guys didn't really learn a lesson from the warning citation..

depending on what kind of dog it is, I would report them to the SPCA at least for biting you
