buddha statues

for you asians with folks that have buddha statues in their home, when you move out to your own place would you also burn incense and keep buddha statues around?

Vansterdam 04-03-2009 01:06 AM

i havent but i should.

Alby 04-03-2009 01:35 AM

it really depends on how superstitious and traditional you are. i would definitely keep the statue, but burning the incense wouldn't really matter to me.

I would have one if I could use it as a bong or ashtray.

Isn't that all just personal preference?

Buddhism is a religion, not superstition. Whether religion is superstition or not, that's another discussion for another time.

Personally, I haven't done it because I know I wouldn't be able to keep that area clean, or give it the proper attention that a practicing Buddhist should give it.

Ok, I can agree with this to an extent... There are still temples and deities though!

Don't gotta be Chinese to believe in Buddhism. It's not even a religion that originated from the Chinese. Came from India.

Agree. Call it anything you want, but they're ultimately all based on blind faith.
