Anyone know what doctors do after they hit 50 patients per day? To clarify, the walk-in clincs. Do they just call it a day and head home? |
It's fricking annoying, but yes, they close up shop and go home. The thing is, the waits for those walkin clinics really sucks. I once had to get a doctor's note for a training period during my job, and I ended up waiting 3 hours.. |
isnt this standard procedure for many doctors in BC? |
i know my family doc does that. |
Well...working at walk-in clinic for a while now. Yes, we close and call it a day. |

^seems like u get boned by the medical system from your last 2 posts here lulz |
there's also the counter-argument of exhaustion. I can't say this is true for all doctors, but if you're going through 50 patients a day, you're going to get pretty tired. I'd hate to be patient #51 who gets mis-diagnosed because the doctor is too tired and worn out to properly assess the illness. The legislations and rules are not only meant to save costs, but also to protect humans on both sides of the table. |
Also, if your kid is sick enough to need to see a doctor urgently, they really should go to the hospital. Persistent cough? Family doctor. Constant vomiting? Children's Hospital. |
