It's as simple as this:

Both Jordan and Kobe were the best in their era.

When comparing the two, I think Kobe has much more raw talent, in the sense that his natural skills allow him to be the best today. Kobe is probably the most TALENTED player to ever touch the NBA floor. This is also his downfall though, as he now relies solely on his own talents, rather than to lead his team. He would rather win the championship himself, rather than to carry his team and win in an effort together.

Whereas Jordan, was almost as talented, but was a much better LEADER than Kobe. He wouldn't just win the championship by himself, but he would LEAD his team to the championship. He would make everyone better around him just by being on their team. This is what sets him apart from everyone else.

But either way, my biggest problem with NBA today is people comparing Lebron with Kobe. Sure Lebron is amazingly talented, and puts up amazing stats. But better than KOBE? maybe in 7 years.
