Cajuna Cuisine Anyone know of any good restauraunts in the lower mainland with good cajun food? i.e. crawfish, boudin, jambalaya, thanks |
There used to be Dadeo Cajun and Creole Food on Cambie Street. Sadly it closed up a few months ago. They had an amazing jambalaya and blackened catfish po'boy. I think they became a casualty of the Canada Line constructed as business seemed dead when the road was closed. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...o/IMG_0245.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...o/IMG_0246.jpg A quick google search comes up with Ouisi Bistro on Granville and 14th Ave. Website menu shows some great cajun stuff, never been there myself though. There's also Big Al's Soul Food, downtown in the lower level of Bental 4 on Dunsmuir Street. I hope to try this place out pretty soon (they run a friday buffet for $22 that includes most menu items, SCORE!). In June, look for Boonie to open a new restaurant in Langley. This past Friday he closed his recent location at the Cloverdale Curling Rink. His theme is Southern BBQ and soul food, and he has the best smoked ribs and pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had. He also added some cajun style items like jambalaya and fried catfish. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/IMG_1719.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/IMG_1706.jpg http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/IMG_1647.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/IMG_1717.jpg |
