Investing in yourself

With all the talk lately about approaching girls, how to get girls, how average guys can get hot girls, I thought i'd give just some simply advice on something that i've done over the last couple weeks.

Investing in yourself. Anyone who's a 4 or 5, should be able to move up to a 6or 7 with a little TLC. I decided it was time that their were things I wasn't satisfied with my self that was hurting my confidence when I approached women or women approached me. It was a feeling of hesitancy on my behalf because of self concious issues. My acne as a teenager really affected the way I reacted face to face with girls. I still unfortunatly to this day have a psycholigical impulse to step back when a girl comes close to me as a way or distancing my acne from them.

So i started a series of things to make me feel more confidenct. First, I went on accutane a couple years back which really helped me acne. While it took a while, it reduced it alot, and while now I still get pimples, they are managable and my confidence when I have clear skins is a million times better.

I also had an issue with wearing glasses in public. I simply felt that they made me look terrible, or that they weren't appealing to my face. I also felt that wearing contacts actually inhibited me from staying over at girls houses. While this sounds stupid and miniscule, it still prevented me from wanting to deal with my contacts. So i decided it was time for laser eye surgery which I just recently got completed. I immediatly felt a a sense of confidence in something that woudl help with personal contact up close.

Years ago I chipped my front two teeth a little and have always had some missing peices that I also felt were extremly noticable in my smile. While everyone would say it wasn't that noticeable, to myself it felt so, so I decided it was time to get fixed. I just recently had some dental work done that was fantastic and again I gained some confidence in smiling. They simply filled the cracked area with this stuff that looks identical to my teeths natural color.

So with all that said and done, I truly feel that by investing in yourself, you can gain the confidence that everyone says you need to be an alpha male. While their is only so much one can do to themselves, its important that you do it. I've provided links to the eye center and dentist, as references because they both were FANTASTIC.

This is exactly what I was talking about when "upping" one's stock. There are things one cannot help but there are things one can.

*** If you have lame fashion sense --> spend some money, ask a girl or a gay guy to take you shopping and dress you up.
*** If you're fat or skinny--> work out
*** If you don't have money --> go to school, get a better job
*** If you're not goodlooking --> be an awesome athlete
*** If you're stupid --> read some books, get well-read
*** If your'e an asshole --> be more considerate
*** If girls find you boring --> get some comedy films and grow a funny bone

etc. etc.

+1

Only when you wallow in your own self pity will you truly lose, go out and improve yourself. Things don't just happen, everything you want is in your hands

Good stuff, rslater

these were all the type of things I've considered about myself before I really seeing my success with the opposite gender.

I've mentioned probably twice on this section of the forums now,
that there is no such thing as unattractiveness (ugliness), just laziness.

Everything you guys said is so true.
I know so many guys that complain and make excuses when it comes to girls when they can easily improve themselves.
More guys need to start thinking like this.

Not everyone, but be wary of guys who claim they have high standards or are overly picky when asked why they're discouraged to pursue a woman.

Or guys who claim: I want to be honourable and not just settle for a friendly fuck when asked about their current dry spell

Or guys who are overly critical of even the most cutest or prettiest of girls and will go to lengths to find flaws unless they're the Misa Campo/Megan Fox type

Why is it depressing? It should be the opposite, it's like suggesting what one can do. You don't have to be instantly rich, buff, nicest guy on the planet and all that in an instant, it's where you're going and what progress you're making that counts, IMHO.

+1. Self-improvement needs purpose, and we all have our different opinions on that.

This thread presents the obvious and its true.
If you excel at all areas of life compared to the guys around you, the chicks flock to you instantly and you don't need to do a thing.
And at the point you KNOW you're better than the other guys, you can be humble and quiet - this will make you look even better!

everybody has different reasons for "investing" in themselves.
if today, you were a virgin in your late 20's, you probably wouldn't have the same mindset as you do now right?

luckily, all the things women tend to be attracted to are good qualities to begin with anyways.

The same could be said for girls and guys, one would hope.
