Xbox 360 Modding
 

hey guys,

I'm not going to be able to afford $60/game and I don't use live so I'm looking to get my Xbox modded. I don't know who to take it to, to get it modded. Theres hundreds of people on Craigslist but I don't know whose reliable and who would be there to steal parts from you. So if you guys have some insight on who to take it to that would be awesome. Also, for those of you with a modded xbox how do you like it?

just software mod the DVD rom, you don't need any soldering.

it's quite difficult to fuck up, either it works or it doesn't

seen some tutorials on youtube. looks simple enough

Are there any trusted installers though? I really prefer to have somebody do it. I'm an idiot when it comes to these things, trust me

craigstlist and go with a post where someone acctually put effort into it...More than just an once sentence add.. But the fact is they are super freaking easy to do... A 12yr old can do it... Its just knowing how to open the xbox properly and installing the right fimeware to the proper drive....

Look up the tutorial, see if you think you can do it. If not, you probably shouldn't run something modded.

I agree with this, not because of being cheap. I've always mod my consoles so i can play copies with the 360 i decide to go legit despite the ease of modding. Back when i just play copy games I would d/l and burn every single new game and never finish one or bother to play deep into the game to see all its secret.

with the 360 i started buying real games and i've finish many games some even to the point of unlocking every single achievement. with a real game you get to enjoy all the nice art design on the case and on the booklets. I also do my research before i buy a game. If your taste in game is pretty good you can trade your games for another after you are done to offset the price (if you are into sports games than forget it).


that is only for console i play on my tv. I pirate all my nds games :D. carry 40+ game cartiage with me totally defeats the purpose of a portable console imo.

He wasn't askin for a source on how to download back up's or anythin even tho his intentions are entirely on that subject. He wanted a reference on someone that does a good job of modding, which maybe, can be entirely for the sole purpose of testing. Gaming isn't my biggest hobby, far from it. I worded that wrong, I'd rather not pay $60/game... You can close this thread if you want though... I don't see it going anywhere other than more people shitting on it.

1) if he knew his stuff, he wouldn't be asking here, he would've already done it himself

2) there are a large number of torrents on demonoid that are legally shared, thusly it isn't completely about piracy. modding a 360 to play burned games is.

4) I was actually referring to how those of us with more time spent on RS are more likely to know how the mods will view and react to a situation than johnny new guy. I'm gonna guess you haven't read any of the stickies either?

5) seeing as I only have 2815 (now 2816) posts, the RS staff may in fact ask me to join them at 2850 ;) but from the looks of things, they're doing quite well with the mods they currently have on staff, and probably wont be needing any new ones anytime soon (at least in the subforums I frequent)

60 bucks is a great deal for a video if u think about it, going to the movies is like 20 bucks, or dinner 3 times 60 bucks there.the replay value on video games pays for itself. And the priceless times on x-box live are great
