Find out what your ecu is chipped with

How can I find out what my ECU is chipped with??! I have a B16a2 engine swapped in a 96 civic and the vtec hits at 4500 rpm. I bought the car several months ago and want to know what is chipped into my ECU

Pull the ecu and take the cover off, see if there is a chip in it since it could just be a stock ecu running your motor. If there is a chip in it you need a chip burner (burn1, burn2, willems, etc) put the chip in it and open it with crome, uberdata, ecutune, or hondata to see the maps.

chips read WVB-AO, SWA-AO, KMB-AO are these stock?

You have to look for a large chip it will be very noticable and most likely will be held in place by something that lets the chip come out. What ECU is it... look on the outside there will be letters an numbers.... your looking for... P06 or P28 or something like that. Do you know if your OBD2 or not?

Berz out.

You would think it would be converted to obd1.

SamJ5 04-18-2009 04:32 PM

I have obd2 and I believe it says G1 on the outside

Then it's not chipped, it's just a stock ecu.

Berzerker 04-19-2009 08:12 PM

Yep its stock and you can't do shit about it. You would have to get a OBD1 ecu and have it chipped and get a conversion harness if you want to go that route.

Berz out.
