Local lens repair

Long story short: My 50mm 1.4 was dropped and I lost all focus (auto and manual)

Does anyone know of a place in the lower mainland that will trade it plus a Canon repair fee or fix it in house?

Or am I stuck to send it to Missasauga?

Thanks in advance you fine RS photo forum folks ;)

Try giving Camtex or Vancam a call, but I have a feeling it'll be cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired.

You honestly believe that it will cost $400 to repair the lens?

Do you think I meant 50mm F1.8?

Ah, oops....I totally missed the f1.4 part.

I think VanCam will charge you $65 to even look at anything Canon...
But it'll go towards your repair if you go through with it.

I made a thread just for these types of questions
