Selling my SLR; pre-sales advice

I'm selling my SLR, since I have had very little use for it. It's big, bulky, and I haven't the time to go out and do dedicated shoot times.

Before I sell it, though, I want to take it in to a camera shop and get it cleaned up (lenses are kind of dusty; I worry about the sensor as well) because I know I'll just fuck it up.

Suggestions on shops or people? fanks guys.

What make/model is it?

If it's Nikon, bring it to them for a cleaning.
IIRC, Canon goes to VanCam

It's a Canon 350D; very basic, sad I can't do more with it.

Just shoot at F/22 at the sky, take a look at how bad the dust is...
Normally a blower can take care of a large chunk of sensor dust.

Thanks for the advice, but I'd like to take it to a shop to get it serviced just so I can say "Recently serviced just for sale at...."

Paolo already suggested couple places 3 posts up.

I'll do it for you for free, as long as you buy the swabs. The lens/es I can do too.

do you guys clean the inside of the lens as well?
theres 3 dust specs in my lens, its not effecting the image but its bugging the sh@t out of me

Some lenses you can unscrew the front element like a filter and clean the dust spec. I had 1 tiny speck on my Nikkon 18-200 that bugged me. I was going to send it in for cleaning but I found a DIY online and did it myself. Just be very careful.

That is a job for the pros. Yes, there are some DIY guides on the net, but if you screw up the alignment when you put it back together, you're screwed.

Get Jason to do it for you. He's da man! :)

It's going to cost you more to get the lens and sensor cleaned than extra money you will make by saying your gear has been recently serviced.

I say just sell it and be honest.
