Replacement Parts

When purchasing general replacement parts such as fuel filters, clutch master cylinders, distributor caps, etc. at lordco/napa/online...
is there a difference between different brands?
The parts looked almost identical but some are priced higher than others.
Do you usually buy the cheapest one or are the pricey ones supposedly better even tho they look the same?

car parts are exactly like any consumer goods out there.

It is not always true, but generally the higher the price the better the quality.
ex. a $20 knock off shirt at Zellars compared to a $50 shirt from MEC.
both are shirts of the same style, but different parts and different manufacturing style.

do your research about the brands and figure out what you need from the part.
after that, you can make an informed decision.

I have good luck with Beck Arnley from Lordco. They are a generic company that doesn't advertise so they have lower overhead than other companies. It is chinese though and not OEM quality but for a 1/4 or 1/3 of the price I'm ok with that.

Specifically, I'm looking at a replacement clutch master cylinder...
The 2 brands that are offered are Adler and PBR
Can't seem to find any information on them though so any help or input is much appreciated
thanks

For something like a clutch master cylinder I would try to find an OEM one.

Agreed.

That, or see if your OEM factory offers a rebuild kit.
