I bought a new Civic at 18. It's not that hard. Bad idea, but not impossible. Then I sold it and bought a whole bunch of parts for my 240 and multiple cars, and now I'm 20 and broke. I'm totally attention whoring this thread btw. |
^ yes you are lol I'm 23 this year with a full time job paying off the 2nd car and insurance + rent lol but when I was 18 my part-time job had so little income it wasn't even worth it to buy a car, as i had the the U-pass but wow.... life's getting hard |

wow you guys pay a lot lolz. It's so nice to not have a richmond up here in squampton to drive up the rates. I pay under $150 now for the Genesis with full coverage and i'm not even at 43% yet haha. |

can you imagine asking your parents for money to buy a catback exhaust or some wheels? lol |
i do pay for insurance and other things, i can't really afford to mod it haha. it probably isn't the smartest idea for an 18 year old kid to have car but everyone wants a car at this age because there's so much freedom instead of riding transit |
well at least you admitt to it , fuck some kids think there the shits when there registration papers are there moms. in my opinion if you get a car you should be able to support it, if not your just a another tool. |

I ended up paying around $150 a month for my Turbo Supra/RX-7, with full coverage and at a 10% discount. My Twin Turbo 300ZX will cost about 1500-1700 per annum to insure (with full coverage, 10-15% discount and insured for an "N" driver). |
02 Celica $1900 a year 43% discount |
2009 Corolla XRS 25% when I insured for the year = $2790 now at 30% I think |
^^^ Wow. You have 30% discount and it costs you $2800 for a Corolla?!?! I know it's a XRS, but still... |

Well, $2800 was only 25% earlier this year. My discount went up to30% after, but I mean, 5% more is barely a difference when I renew next. But yeah, that was a shocker to me too..plus when I insured it, I had to fork out another $710 to get the Replacement Policy through the insurance company, which in the end, is a FRACTION of the price ICBC wants for their policy. And no, I did not have mommy and daddy reaching into their pockets! There's such thing as working and SAVING money. |
How can you save money when you pay $2800/year for a corolla? |
^ I work full time and put money aside every paycheque ALL year, works out. |
^ Good for you especially nowadays...... Well for myself I pay annually with my VISA more points for me...... and haven't tried the monthly payment options before and my insurance is around $16XX/yr and this is on 43% discount hopefully I will get a even lower rate when I renew this year cuz my car is getting old...... |
