i thought it was brave of her to speak her mind; considering how hollywood the pageant is and that these women end up trying for a career in entertainment

Well, I gotta agree with her. Marriage is between a man and woman. Give gays the same rights and benefits as married couples. Let them have the whole experience. Just don't call it a marriage.

I was more interested in Arkansas answer to the question about whether Americans should have universal health care. Basically her answer was "USA has integrity, and I was raised by a family with integrity". I don't think she even adressed the question at all...

Same-sex marriage is only legal in a few states... for most of the US, it is not an option.

And "opposite marriage" obviously wasn't the correct choice of words...
