haha...is NBC becoming the next FOX?

That Jim guy is such a tool. He's probably reading some crap an Apple fanboi spewed out for him.

Photoshop is included now with Macs? :D
Faster chip? If I recall correctly, the same C2D is being used in PC's. PC's also have higher clocked versions, and quad core versions. Faster chip my ass.

Geek squad? wha? Why is that "necessary"?

Music and multimedia software? WMP works just fine and it's free.

I'm not a Mac hater - I think they have a great product that works well for certain demographics, but this guy is totally misleading the public.

I would, if it didn't cost me $600 more for an equivalent Mac ;)

Although it is lighter, faster and comes with Photoshop... :haha:

Jobs better have hooked em up with some Macbook Pros after that segment...total fanboism there.

if your not a retard when it comes to computers you dont need a mac.

its always hilarious when people tell me they want a macbook because they dont want all the spyware, viruses, etc. of PC's then you take a look at their PC and they have 3 different versions of limewire on it, 2 IE toolbars, and a butt load of flash games that are running in the background without them even knowing lol

on both my personal computers i dont even run anti-virus programs, i have my firewall and run an online scan through trend micro once a month, rarely do i have any sort of infections etc.

Jim Goldman has absolutely no fucking idea what he is talking about. I like when he listed HP and Hewlett-Packard as two separate companies. Fucking douche.

ienhz 04-22-2009 03:45 PM

Hahahahha. I hope no one falls for this idiocy.

Tim Budong 04-22-2009 04:25 PM

as a mac user
this guys fails
with the "hacktint0sh" community growing larger and my 3 year old macbookpro battery starting to fail. i might look into a PC LAPTOP and load osx onto it..and guess what, it runs fine!

hell
my plan in may is to purchase a dell mini9 and load osx onto it

^ you are one of the very few Mac users I like. Hell for the most part I think the hackintosh users are more legitimate mac users than the people that own macs, simply because they're using the OS they need for whatever reason but refuse to get ass raped price wise to get it.

Preemo 04-23-2009 12:57 AM

^ I just installed Mac onto my PC. It's awesome to have it dualboot but an extra $600 bucks ot make it run like a Mac? What a crock of shit!!

Apple is nothing more than a really well done marketing storm.

thanks!
i do agree, windows is absolutely necessary for me in terms of work, but I enjoy the OSX playform more, its easy and lazy.

Truth be told, the only people that can truely understand the "why mac" and be "normal" would be OSX users with a decent knowledge on computer hardware related topics

I also installed OS X on my S10 just to play around with and get some experience with OS X. Most netbooks have this capability due to the similarities in the hardware with the current gen Macs. (the Intel 945 chipset). Like darthchilli mentioned, there is a big hackintosh community for each of the Netbooks (Dell, MSI, Asus, Lenovo) and there's tons of write ups, youtube videos, etc that show you how to do the switch.

Works pretty well, although OSX isn't really suited to the 10" screen. Certain things don't work 100% but most of the major functionality works. Someone should do a follow up article and show it running on a $300 netbook. Who's got the lighter weight and better battery life now Jim? :D

Same for me but with Linux, the programs I need for school require me to have Windows. I tried adding a hackintosh partition as well but it had some issues with the empty partition I was trying to put it on.

Only one of my friends with a Mac has any clue about hardware, the rest of them only have them because of Apples crazy marketing. As much as I hate to admit it, they do a great job of tricking ignorant users with their stupid ads. Hell, they even use their own fancy words for every single thing so it sounds like it's something exclusive to a Mac.

"The new Macbook Pro, now with the exclusive optical viewing device, only available on Mac's. Also included is the appendage input pad and board."
