Claiming Windshield Crack
 

Hi guys,
I'm hoping you guys can shed some knowledge here; I'm wondering if it's alright to buy a car with a cracked windshield, get insurance, and then claim it and get it fixed right away. This sounds like a stupid question but I recall they ask when and how it happened.

I figure you gotta do it sooner or later so I wanna know if there's a need to wait, or lie about how it happened?

a crack will eventually get you a VI.....just tell the guy to fix the windsheild before you purchase the car.

thanks for the reply. Problem is, the car is my dad's and he already bought it. It was for a friend who's daughter was having trouble keeping up with payments so the car was sitting there uninsured.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to claim it. It's not like they look at the car when you buy insurance. They don't know or don't care how long the crack has been there.

Jus go to a ICBC glass store. They'll ask u when it cracked but they won't bother verifyinh if u'r telling the truth or not.
