Is this airborne or can you get it from eating pork?

i heard it was airborne. thats why health board are advising ppl to wear masks. I was watching the news just now and they said the likeliness of getting the flu by eating pork is less to rare.

what's the size of the virus?

or a better question would be: does all face mask protect the person from this virus? I believe some face masks have more breathability than others.

I think the concern is more on personal hygiene. You can wear a mask all day but it wont prevent you from catching it if u shook hands with someone who might have it and start touching your food with your hands or something similar to that.
I just heard from the news again that the 6 students that travelled to mexico suspected of having swine flu recovered fine except for 1 that is still being tested. zanamivir is an antibiotic that apparently fights off the virus. No confirmed results though if it is the cure.

let the conspiracies start.

someone let the virius go in mexico city trying to kill him?..

Or maybe the US let it go?...

seeing it's a combination of a few different viruses, being man made isn't out of the question.
LOL.

I live in Mexico... Nothing to worry about(yet). The cases have all been in central mexico. I wouldnt worry about it if you were going to either coast. Use common sense and wash your hands alot and eat in clean places. Dont worry about eating pork as the flew travels from person to person.

I heard on the news yesterday that the kids in NS that got it were in the Mayan Rivera area. As well they believe it's showing more effect in Mexico is they now believe it's been there for a couple months and it's just starting to show the bad effects now.

CDC officials described the virus as having a unique combination of gene segments not seen in people or pigs before. The bug contains human virus, avian virus from North America and pig viruses from North America, Europe and Asia.

Health officials have seen mixes of bird, pig and human virus before, but never such an intercontinental combination with more than one pig virus in the mix.

Close enough.
