Front Strut Bar + Rear (Neuspeed) question

First question: Does it help increase handling, works well?
Second: Is it worth $100 second hand, + shipping. Also he is throwing in a rear brace as well.

Dunno if this is the right section, so mods feel free to move it to the appropriate area.

Yes, makes a difference to handling and steering feel. Car feels more rigid and suspension geometry is improved during cornering.

+1

Strut Bar will add more firmness to chassis help eliminate body rolling.
Also consider adding Sway Bar

Is $100 + shipping a good deal?

I can tell you from my experience, after I put only a front strut bar in, I could feel difference right away when I'm in corners.
Simple upgrade that actually makes a difference you could feel.

yes def feels much firmer on cornering

less body roll

a strut bar is nice, but a sway bar is much more useful IMO

100 isn't bad. but not great.

check online for applications for your car i'm sure new isn't much more.

edit: also depending on the car, a rear brace might make your trunk less useful

i agree, sway bar costs more but is actually more bang for buck in reducing body roll, strut bars are more for rigidity

mc25 04-24-2009 10:19 PM

Tnxs guys. I couldnt find any online place in canada that sells it, or a sway bar.

Blinky 04-24-2009 11:27 PM

No difference, especially on street tires.

Sway bar = makes something that's supposed to move, move differently
Strut bar = makes something that doesn't move.... not move

You'll find a greater performance bang for buck with tires or even replacing suspension bushings.

those last two pics are pretty awesome as far as chassis bracing goes.

a hinged strut tower bar is so-so in terms of connecting your strut mounts together. a solid one will have more effect. try to get a solid "one piece" tower bar, or a three point one for maximum rigidity.
