ebay brake rotors

ebay brake rotors cross drilled go for about $100 - $150 for a pair while locally crossed drilled slotted rotors got for $150 a piece.

are ebay rotors worth buying? any possible problems?

Lomac 04-27-2009 11:14 PM

Like everything on eBay, buyer beware. I know plenty of people running eBay rotors who haven't had a single problem, but I'm sure there are others who have.

On the same token, unless you're buying 'em simply for looks, cross-drilled and slotted rotors serve little purpose on modern braking systems.

Brembo Blank or slotted are pretty cheap
I think they are safe

Brembo on EBAY

Avoid cross drilled rotors. Why would you want less braking surface area? Thats silly. Plus, they are notorious for cracking, which is not exactly something you want to happen.

but but you know someone is going to say Porche still uses them!

Porsche uses Brembo rotors, which are properly treated. If you find you are paying 400-500+ for your cross drilled rotors, they are probably true Brembo rotors. $60 is not going to get you treated cross drilled rotors, $60 will get you cracked rotors.

trevor87 05-07-2009 05:56 PM

they will gouge your pads the majority of the time

brembro blanks are real good

accord's has been known for brake disks to be warped my accord with brembro's has not have a problems with years

brakes are an essentials part of the car, I wouldn't cheap out on it.

I use DBA rotors.

brembo blanks or if you want the holes go for CASTED ones, not drilled.

ebay brake rotors? like one of those shady ones?

do not buy them, most likely it will be less reliable than your OEM brakes.

Expresso 06-01-2009 02:11 PM

rotors are rotors.

as long as they don't crack who cares.

I'm not sure if some rotors are more prone to warping or it could be people just putting up the their ebrakes after hard runs or their driving styles.

I've used generic rotors for 5 years + no problems here. They are so cheap that even if they do warp you can just buy another one and it'll still be cheaper than any name brand version.Thats just my experience anyways.
