Switch Back to Shaw and Get a Free HDPVR I got this in the mail today. It says they are serious about my business and says that they'll provide a Shaw HDPVR for me to keep if I switch back to Shaw for TV, plus the first month of any new service will also be FREE. Eligibility: Customer must provide copy of active competitor television invoice within past 30 days and subscribe to any Shaw tele service and go on preauthorized payment plan for minimum of 6 months. HDPVR may be a refurbished unit. How good is this offer? |
damn we just sign up for telus tv for 1mo and get the hd pvr? |
fucking bullshit when the long time customers still have to pay 7 bills.. although in some new condo developments they are giving out fucking insane deals + PVR's like no tommarow |
and here i am... still needing to buy a damn hd box from shaw... but not willing to pay out 500 bucks |
This is madness. The good part is the free PVR. The downside is current customers can call retention and get 6mos of Free channels and PVR rental with a choice of buying the PVR for 50% off the regular price. |

U should see the deals they give to some of the buildings in dowtown. 2 month of free Interent Classic cable and HD BASIC and Digital phone for free and after that is only like $19.95 or something like that for Interent and Classic cable. 1year of free rental HD PVR and is free after one year. |
I got a refurbished box from shaw last week for $300. |
Can you ask for refurbished pvr when you phone shaw? I was just about to shell out $600 for the pvr but i guess i should phone shaw and tell them i'm thinking about getting shaw internet, phone and hd cable. Wonder if they will throw in a free pvr or somthing. |

My friend moved into one of the new apartments by Highgate Mall in Burnaby and they get 1 year of free Telus TV + 25Mbps Internet. The entire apartment is hooked up to fiber optics or something so they get the faster internet. The girl over the phone said the normal price for that internet connection is $100  |
The PVR's are the biggest scam ever |
My buddy who just moved into a new building in burnaby is getting a free PVR for a year then option to buy for 269 after the year, full hd cable package, home phone, and extreme-I Internet for $65 a month.. |

Regular high-speed went from 5 Mbps to 7.5 Mbps. Xtreme went from 10 Mbps to 15 Mbps. All for no additional costs, AFAIK. |
woopty fucking do, when you never hit those speeds and your net slows on a regular basis a little extra speed really means nothing. |
Uh..why so serious? I hit those speeds pretty often. What have you done to troubleshoot your internet connection? |

So..I work at Shaw. Here is a little secret. I can't guarantee you guys will get a free pvr but most likely you'll be able to use one. All you have to do is call in, 604 629 8888. Follow the promts to customer service or whatever. When you speak with the representative, just tell them that you want to cancel your service with Shaw. When they ask you why, just tell them that you were contacted by Telus and they are giving you a free pvr for switching over. Because Shaw wants to keep you as a customer, the rep will transfer you to the Customer Accounts Team. This team will then probably offer you 1 of 2 offers. Offer 1) A free pvr for 6 months. Basically you'll be renting it but they will pay the rental for you and at the end of 6 months you can choose to purchase it for $299. Offer 2) A free pvr for staying. Not many customers get offered this. Hope this helps. If I get one of you guys, ima just cancel your account. JK. |
