Best reasonably priced bluray player?

currently looking to buy a bluray player for my grandparents, all bluray players play DVD's as well no?

id like to spend under $250 on somthing decent if possible

any recomendations?

oh also somthing that plays multi-region DVDs might be nice, euro ones etc.

your grandparents want a bluray player?!?! what a waste of money.

just buy a chinese made no-region DVD player with HDMI and supports AVI and RMVB!!

Lol how's it a waste of money? They have a 42" xbr4 with surround setup :p

I think there are tons of BD players that's sub-250

Check Zellers or Wal-Mart, I saw the ads on redflagdeals

I doubt they will be all region dvd playing on them though.

Samsung bdp-1600 $279.99 at futureshop right now

anything less(in price) then your grandparents will probably be too frustrated with it.

has good reviews on blu-ray.com

prob a 40" or 46" cause xbr4 never came up with a 42"

but either way there's cheap samsung blu-ray players that go on sale every now and then for 199 which isnt bad

anybody notice the bluray selection at Blockbusters and the rest is sparse, to say the least?

wouwou 05-10-2009 12:47 PM

the BB near hastings and gilmore has quite a BD selection (cant remember the exact intersection),

the Rogers on Lougheed mall is good for BD too

but yeah, selection can vary depending on location
