Destruction of documents...

So a few years ago, i racked up a series of charges from minor to major, and when court came around, the crown did not charge me on any of the charges...VPD did take my photos, prints etc...
and just a few months ago, i was aquitted on another charge...with richmond rcmp..

i filed for destruction of documents with rcmp and vpd, my question is, how long does it take to confirm destruction and if i apply for my passport now, will this history come up?

thanks

I'd be more concerned if a "destruction of documents" requests will remove your aquittal records from the CPIC.

As soon as you are "charged" with an offense, if gets reported to CPIC. Even if you are aquitted, it stays on the CPIC for 5 years thereafter. I know there is a way to have an aquittal removed from CPIC, but I don't know if "destruction of documents" is the way to do it.

You should probably phone the passport office and explain your situation. As long as you have been aquitted, there should not be any problem.
