How to prevent static from your chair? Don't know where else to ask.. I have this fabric chair at home..it is comfortable and very adjustable.. but the problem is, I get shit load of static from this chair probably becoz of the fabric surface. Is there any product or any way to eliminate that? It is annoying getting static shock everytime I out of the chair and touch something. |

chain the chair to the pole then...The reason you get static is probably because you are on carpet and it doesn't ground anywhere....chain u or the chair to a metal pole is the only solution. Or cut the carpet out and strap a piece of carbon strap (like the guy above says, those straps in old school cars for static) to the floor. I have a feeling that you will rolleyes on me again but if you don't like legit answers I can't help you. |
would it work if you put one of those plastic sheets for chairs to rollover to prevent the chair from touching the carpet? |

the easiest thing to do, would be to move the chair from carpet, or ground the chair somehow.. |

the metal frame of your computer is actually a legit and very good grounding point, because the emergency ground line is wired throughout the metal frame of your computer by default (in case of shortages it will jump a fuse before it electrocute you) so run a wire from ur computer frame to ur chair, problem solved. |
