UBC Email I actually use my ubc email (@interchange.ubc.ca)alot for more professional contacts (work). When will I no longer be able to access the account? and what happens to it?...Does it deactivate right away after I graduate, or does it deactivate if I want to take a year off school? just curious |
I could be wrong but I think you get to keep it as an alumni |
it will be deactivated as soon as your student status is removed (graduated). you can pay for alumni access (continue your account). http://www.it.ubc.ca/accounts/interchange/alumni.html |
This is one of the oddest things I find about UBC. As far as I know, most schools give you a free alumni email address when you're finished. |
interchange email sucks as it always messes up your formatting upon sending. not very professional, just like most of UBC. |
interchange blows, every other uni has a very easy to type @sfu.ca or @mit.edu, but we get stuck with @interchange.ubc.ca. for this reason i chose not to pay for the account after grad. also, the principle of paying for an email address after 40k of tuition is just insulting. |
thanks guys, yes ubc is cheap as sh1t!, i will not be paying to have it after i grad |
lol... UBC: U Bring us Cash |
QFT for all posts in this thread:D interchange is a joke. 120mb = inbox sitting at full capacity every few weeks, that and your trash bin doesnt automatically delete its contents |
Aren't UBC interchange emails pretty decent with your names though? For SFU, it is like "zkl8@sfu.ca" or something weird. Albiet with SFU, you get two email accounts. One your username and the other your full name but with an underscore and a number if there are more than one person with the same name as you. |
