Shoes for healthcare setting (and where to get scrubs) I will be doing a 2 week practicum at a hospital as a lab technologist. Since it is going to be my career, I was wondering what kind of shoes are recommended (and comfortable) for work. The instructor says that white runners are fine. I've never worked at a lab before, let alone stand for long periods of time. Any recommendations to types of shoes and brand would be great. PS. Side note, if you also know where to get scrubs, please leave a message as well. Thanks. |
berkie clogs for lots of standing kicks ass |
runners/sneakers are fine (u do get breaks, so dont worry) u can get scrubs at bcit (in the TnT stores around campus) .. or images on W. Broadway near VGH.. or pro one uniforms the ones at bcit are cheaper hope that helps |
Can also get scrubs at Marks Work Warehouse, Walmart, Army & Navy. Kinda depends on the fit you'd like. As for shoes, you just want comfy ones like runners. The ones I use at the hospital are Converse ones...haha but they're super comfy. |
Some hospital have a laundry area. They sell lab coats and scrubs. They also do loans for staff. Some gift shops sell scrubs as well. For shoes, get thick sole walking shoes. Which hospital are u doing your practicum on? |
I'm doing my practicum at VGH. I'm wearing Nike AirForce right now, and by the end of the day, my heels are burning and dead tired. |
