shooting black cars at night let's see those pictures! |
It seems to be very diffcult to bring out the lines of the car but no one? |
You need to choose your light source very carefully. A large softbox would be a start, but using gobos, flags and such would be an asset. |
here's a cheap trick i used alot and achieved great results. put up a bed sheet with a backdrop holder, use that as a diffuser between ur lightsource. it'll increase the size of ur lightsource. same effect as when you park ur car beside a white wall, you get you whole side illuminated. because black gloss paint doesnt reflect as well, a single flash wont be as effective: it'll just bring out the swirl marks in the paint haha. This way, it's more of a reflection that is reflected off the black paint. |
It's hard, even during the day really |
I've tried looking around and can't find any good pictures anywhere. now I know why black cars rarely make it on car brouchures and magazines. |

You'll definitely need a studio and specialized lighting equipment. |
