Blackberry 8900- javelin

I just picked up one of these, and im wondering where i can download free apps. themes, etc...

Tried googling, but didnt really come up with many sites with good downloads.
So if anyone knows any, please post'em.

On a side note, what do you use as nav/gps on the phone? The regular "map" software that came with it, or something else??

Im a complete noob with this new blackberry.
Ohhh, and i read somewhere about firmware updating or something. What are you on? what is the regular? is it really necessary and safe to update it?

Anything else i should know??? Please fill me in.

Thanks.

from your berry's browser, www.mobile.blackberry.com. download the blackberry app world.

www.crackberry.com should answer all of your questions. They have the latest news on beta and new releases for firmware. They also have info on apps, themes and the like. Also, definitely second both blackberry app world and google maps.

hi-revs 05-17-2009 07:57 PM

^^^ then where do you download from????

03aspec 05-17-2009 09:04 PM

no where, i just download whatever I canfrom app world. apps that I have on my blackberry are poynt, shazam, viigo, weather eye and quick pull. those are all free by the way. blackberry isn't really about the apps, its more business oriented, emails and im all day, which is why I'm going back to the iphone.
