Almost everyone ignore APEGBCs rule for the term "engineer" these days. It's unenforceable.

that's true...it's just a name that's not really enforceable. i mean hell, Dr. Dre calls himself a doctor... :D

don't get an Elise, get an Exige.

Lambo's are for rich guys who want a car that screams "Look at me! Look at MEEEEEE!!!!! I'm rich!!!!" (imo)

The R8 is sexy but idk, there's just something about it that makes me not like it. maybe the LED's

plus Lotus just sounds sexy. Say it with me. Lotus. mmm

haha

Just out of curiosity, what engineering diploma program normally takes 4 years? I thought they were all 2.....

I'd go 911 Turbo and daily it, sell the other 2. Whats the point in driving a civic if you have an exotic sitting in the garage depreciating like crazy.

whats this Third Class Engineer Certification? I just completed my Electrical Engineering Technology (2 year) and I'm looking to bridge/do Electrical Eng (4 year) but what is this you've taken and what exactly does that make you?

kookoobird88 05-22-2009 02:02 AM

jesus ur 20 and possibly buying a lambo
how do u do that damn! seriously would like to know how that happens

good on you!

x_macbeth 05-22-2009 05:31 AM

Diploma + Certification = 2 years
Degree + Certification = 4 + 4 = 8 years

I figured I'd use that extra 6 years for experience and scrap the degree. Yes, my diploma isn't as "high ranked" as a degree, but I'll always have 6 years on the university graduates. It's just my personal choice to skip the degree. Just made sense- to me, at least. And no, I don't call myself a "professional" engineer. I consider myself certified, since, well, I have the certification to work as one. Fair to say?
When I'm not working, I'm involved in the music industry. I do a lot of jumping in investments as well.

Lastly, back on topic. I've decided to do the Lease/Trade with Weissach. Pick up that sexy White or Orange Elise next week. And likely trade it in for whatever tickles my fancy in a couple years. Final answer.

End. :)

anything to do with power...

so refridgeration, boilers, steam, etc.....

but largest and most popular out of the three is Boilers.:)

underscore 05-22-2009 08:59 AM

^ gotcha, so not something I can apply. thanks.

kookoobird88 05-22-2009 10:41 AM

ilvtofu 05-22-2009 01:41 PM

Blinky 05-22-2009 09:50 PM

Apologies for continuing on with the offtopic stuff. RE: Power Engineering (running boilers, chillers etc etc) - yeah that's called Power Engineering and I believe it's perfectly legitimate to call oneself a Power Engineer. However, do NOT give yourself the title Professional Engineer, and don't call yourself a P. Eng either (P. Eng. is the proper abbreviated title of Professional Engineer).

Underscore, sounds like you're an Engineering Technologist, which is quite different than power engineering.

To the main topic, get the Elise. It's going to be a fun weekend car and you won't break the bank doing so either. And should you do something stupid with it, well, it will be the "best" car to make a stupid mistake in. Or at least it will be the cheapest.

kumbo1 05-24-2009 09:16 AM

If you want to burn your money like that, get an investment. A 1969 Dodge Charger 500.

Harvey Specter 05-24-2009 04:46 PM

I thought your brother was going to buy the Lotus?
