I am running an ANR race header with 2.5" kteller mandrel bent piping, magnaflow resonator and hks carbon Ti muffler.

the kteller pipes are bent to factory specs and the exhaust doesn't hang extremely low. The lowest part is the resonator because the diameter is so large - it's also the part of the exhaust that got caught :(

Here are some pics of the damage:

Me removing the broken piece

The portion that got ripped off (between the cat and the resonator)

I don't have a clear picture of the bent portion because it was too dark. I'm gonna have to go back to my buddy's place and take a picture with my real camera.

The flex pipe on my header is completely mangled and it's cracked on the first and second primary runners at the flange.

Been to that diary queen parking lot and went past it with my lowered integra. That thing is not crazy high, I've seen worse but ya if you went through that right in the middle of your car it'll scrape.

Your car is modified. You should just suck it up.

taylor192 05-23-2009 09:47 PM

One less fart can!

I cannot comment on your car without pics, yet there's a lot of improperly installed fart cans that sit stupid low just begging to be ripped off by a bump.

WHEYsted 05-23-2009 10:22 PM

If your car didn't have such a big fart can and you didn't lower it. You wouldn't have gotten into this situation.

Timpo 05-23-2009 11:09 PM

so...are you gonna fix it through ICBC?

tegman 05-25-2009 12:54 PM

Gutted the under carriage of my car (holes in the frame, bent exhaust and skid plate). Went to ICBC, they contacted landlord of the parking lot, he denied fault, went to City of Vancouver, they denied fault. Went back to the landlord, he went MIA so ICBC is sending a letter from collections to say pay or gtfo.

sigh

i think this is 10x more brutal than the op's exp and i think every1 here would agree that the property manager would have to pay or gtfo

just look at the way that metal plate is hanging...its almost like a spike strip...

volvoman mind telling us where this was??

Adsdeman 05-25-2009 01:14 PM

Sorry bro but if ur car was factory height maybe the owner would do somthing, but i hate to say it i think this is ur fault man!

Sportmart on Broadway. This was during Winter. A city snow plow came thru and the shovel bent the thick metal plate up. I had to get a tow truck to lift and move my car off of the metal plate. I put a crate and a pylon from a nearby construction site so no one else would get pwnd.

Look how high that fucker is

Its been 6 months and ICBC is still trying to find someone to accept blame. Since then, my insurance discount has gone down because this was considered a single car accident. I've also had to pay a few hundred dollars more this year for insurance...a couple hundred dollars I was supposed to have spent at Sport Mart on a jacket

To the OP, good luck but I doubt anything will be done except the blame game...and you'll always be the loser

They need to pain that man-hole cover yellow with the black hazard lines running diagonally. Good luck to OP, cuz he needs it.

If you read the graffiti it's Latin for "Don't drive over this cone. Evil lurks here."
