exactly.

even the closest people will be seeing a crystal clear display, replacing it will be peanuts as well because all you will be replacing in the case of an errant ball, burnt pixel, etc. are a few LED's

n1smo 05-24-2009 09:38 PM

I'm pretty sure they will have Plexiglas or something in font of the screen.

I don't think it's meant to be looked at by people sitting right below it.

And come on people... it's not like it's going to be unprotected like the computer monitor sitting on your desk... you don't think for $40M, they'll have planned out how to protect it?

InvisibleSoul 05-24-2009 11:19 PM

Hell, the Fremont Street Experience Viva Vision in Las Vegas is way bigger... it stretches several blocks.

twitchyzero 05-24-2009 11:59 PM

Psykopathik 05-25-2009 08:56 AM

Fuck i want to play wii on that thing, with a HUGE wii sensor bar

slammer111 05-26-2009 05:15 PM

Sucks if you have a ticket for a game/event on the same side as the TV. ;)

Not sure why it costs so much, but yeah, the bulbs (ie pixels) will be huge. At the end of the day it's STILL just 1080p, so it's not going to look any "sharper" than the TV you picked up from Best Buy.

You guys realize that you could just buy a 60" or so HDTV and sit 2m away for the exact same effect right?
