Registered Massage Therapists

Any suggestions on registered massage therapists? My company gives us $500/year to spend on massages or physio so I want to use it up or else it just goes to waste.

Serious answers only (no rub n tugs :p ) or else I would have posted this in VOT :mamoru:

Basically you are looking at $80/hr for RMT.
Im not sure but anyone with an RMT has a certain standard and cant be too bad.
I know someone in the Coquitlam area i can recommend if you are interested.

My RMT, Colin Charron is pretty awesome. First visit is $80 for the full hour, subsequent visits are as low as $40 for a half hour. You can find him at Ironwood Chiropractic in Richmond - (604) 271-3234. If you don't want a guy doing the massage, you can also ask for the female RMT, can't remember her name, but she's really good too.

My rmt is great, shes located @ broadway and commercial
pm if you want her contact!!

i go to an RMT located on robson... 80 for 60 mins... i think that's basically the going rate. it's a guy though.

could you be more specific about what area you're looking for an RMT in?

Keroleen 05-25-2009 10:26 PM

I honestly think just find one convenient for you
The rates are pretty much the same anywhere you go

Spa Utopia is $100 for an hour. You can get a $100 gift card from Costco for $80. You end up making $20 because you get a $100 receipt when using the gift card.

good thread, I'm looking for an RMT as well. I should really use my benefits :)

I usually hit Spa Utopia, its about $150 for a 75min Swedish full body massage and you can stick around for as long as you like afterwards to use their steamroom & facilities. If you are planning to have your medical benefits cover it, most insurance providers will only pay a rate of $80 to $85 per hour or pro rated if you have a longer session, the rest will be up to you to cover.

i go to one on kingsway in burnaby (right beside where Big Star or what ever it was last called)

let me know if you want the contact

Any massage places have an online schedule booker? The only place I know of that has it is serenityclinic but they arent that great.

MASTER_J 06-11-2009 12:07 PM

I get my massages from Joey in Siba Holistic Health & Fitness; she is a certified and registered Reflexologist, Shiatsu Massage Therapist and Yoga instructor. It's located in Richmond and call 778-863-9293 for appointment.

I've been to a lot of different places, she is the only one who can take care of my headache within a 1 hour session.

Go to West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New West. They have Year 3 students who are only weeks or months away from graduating, and its like 10-20 bucks :P

My RMT is at Watermania in Richmond. There are a few of them who share the space but mine charges $65/45min. Only gone twice but so far, so good.

EDIT: I went to the College in New West a few times, but their treatment is not covered by extended health so I stopped. Awesome and cheap place though if you're not looking for a RMT.

^^Who treats you?

I hear good things about Rod, but he's really busy. I am a dancer and have serious back and neck issues so I am looking for someone who can help me.

buddy 06-12-2009 09:44 AM

^ try Joey if you want, my headache is actually from lack of oxygen due to neck and back muscles too tight , she takes care of it within an hour .. and i heard a lot of her clients are dancers too ...
