this story sounds like a big ol case of media sensationalizing taking things WAY out of context. the article could easily have said "Canada's Governor General, while on a tour of the northern territories, experienced a traditional ceremony feast long celebrated by Canadas northern aboriginal people" and it wouldn't have been an issue. but the good old media throws in imagery like "blood dripping down her fingers" and "she ripped out the slaughtered seals heart with her bare hands and ate it raw" and "she laughed with a witch like cackle at the thought of such things being inhumane" the whole world gets its feathers ruffled. |
