Help with Audio changing volumes?

Hey guys, need some expert advice. I have a 90 Toyota 4runner. My brother recently installed some old deck to it, but now the volume is going up and down at weird times. Sometimes when i'm driving in aparticular position (north-south) it'll do it, and then when i go east-west it'll stop?

Anyone else have these problems? Maybe it's the deck?

Sounds like the deck. The contacts on the volume knob or buttons are probably dirty so therefore it makes contact when it wants to. Time for a new deck. Check our sponsors!

Maybe you have a feature like ASL on. (Automatic Sound Level Adjustment) Some stereo's had them, so that when road noise gets higher it turns up the volumn more. So when you're driving (in motion) the volumn turns up, as you come to a stop, the volumn turns down. Pioneer had this feature a few years ago on their stereos and im sure other brands had that feature a few years back.
