HIT AND RUN other then if you know who hit your car for an hit and run. is there any one that never paid deductible or any thing to get there car fixed? or do u always pay deductible no matter what? thanks |
If it's a hit and run and you don't know who did it, you'll have to pay the deductible to get your car fixed. If you know who did it and ICBC finds the guilty party guilty, then you don't have to pay to get your car fixed. |
Don't think there is another way around it. Either find the person who did it or pay up. There is a third option... Don't pay and don't get car fixed! Yeah, I know that wasn't what you were looking for. |
I've reported it where i've been at a mall, got hit n run, and paid less than my $300... sometimes if the damage is small, they'll let you pay $150~ |
I had to pay the full $300 for the damage for my hit and run |
hmm... thanks guys |
Ah hit and run...that sucks. Like many have mentioned here, if you know who did it, then ICBC will bill the other party provided that all checks out. You shouldnt have to pay anything. However, if you dont know who did it, maybe get a quote from a bodyshop. Not sure of the extent of your damages but if the repairs are under $300, then may be better to just get things fixed bypassing ICBC. Otherwise, Im thinking you're gonna be paying the full deductible going through them....:( Hope all works out for you. |
I've hit another car and didn't pay the deductible. The accident was my fault anyway. I should really clarify that it wasn't much of an accident. I came slightly too close to the other car and trim around my wheel well rubbed up against the other car. No damage to my car and the other car had a rub mark about an inch. ICBC claims adjuster called me and asked how I'd want to deal with it. The claims guy said all that was needed was to buff it out, would cost me about $15. Told him I'd just pay instead of using my deductible. |
lol... wow.. all this.. for a 1 inch rub mark.. but ya.. -.- ai..and the guy went to icbc for this too.. oh man.. |
