Spotted: S2Ks in Cypress

Spotted around 10 S2Ks going up on Cypress tonight around 11pm. Couple MINIs and stuff could bee seen in between the crowd.

Anybody from here?

I was in my Skyline coming down the hill. :)

It was an s2ki cruise meet

!SG 05-29-2009 07:36 AM

Hmm...a good friend of mine asked me to join his cruise to Cypress yesterday as well...He drives a blue TSX with RH whels and Mugen grill... could it be the same guy??

SumAznGuy 05-29-2009 08:27 PM

Bunch of fags and their S2k's.
Boooo!!!!!!

I believe they joined the SFICC guys on a cruise.

ilvtofu 05-29-2009 09:55 PM

yeah, what's the appeal with the S2k's neways? they don't come factory with nething worth the 50k MSRP... no aggressive styling, shitty interior, weak engine (although revs like crazy), impractical, no brand name to back it up unlike the Z4s and SLKs etc. out there. I just don't get it.

Oh man...I have a feeling you'll get bashed by the S2000 fans out there...

But yea...
Have you driven one before?
Even though I haven't driven an S2000 before (sat in one), it's all about the handling man and an NA engine that produces more than 100HP per L of displacement. I'm sure an S2000 owner can tell you a lot more than I can.

Hondaracer 05-29-2009 10:33 PM

s2k engine has highest displacement per L of any engine no?

ilvtofu 05-29-2009 11:35 PM

what is it 240hp/2.2L?
It's probably not the highest NA HP/litre, but maybe in that price range
cos a scuderia probably has more.
Does it actually handle that well?
I've never driven one, but i'd imagine something like a boxster which isn't too hardcore could outhandle it or at least just as good.

yeah just waiting to get raped by S2k comments

ilvtofu 05-29-2009 11:40 PM

yeah the 2010 porsche GT3 beats it in terms of displacement hp. 435/3.8 and i'd bet it's more usable than the S2k's

but around 100hp/L doesn't seem that rare,
cos how much does a Honda engine actually put out?
Bmw M5 500hp/5L
Lambo 560/5.2L
Bunch of porsches and ferraris

rarer in american cars but yeah. maybe it's the price
but i don't think its much to brag about.
It's like saying (insert penis joke here)

ShyGuy 05-30-2009 12:35 AM

AP1 S2000's put out 120HP/L
2.0L/240HP

I think SAE corrected it's 236HP

It's a fun little car.

d1 05-30-2009 12:39 AM

It's funny you say that 100hp/L isn't rare and then name off expensive/exotic cars (because these cars are so common right?)

ilvtofu 05-30-2009 08:08 AM

it's funny that you don't realize how many 911s are on the road in vancouver

JDMCivic 05-30-2009 09:19 AM

its pretty practical actually for a sports car...i DD mine and can go on weekend trips with my gf with 2 suitcases plus other stuff

its not the fastest out there by any means but its fun for me to drive and that gear box is just that good

i guess its the 'feeling' that makes it cost 50k? not really sure...but if u go back to 2000 there really wasn't any other roadsters that was that much fun. now however, 50k gets u lots of goodies (evo, sti, 370z etc). but anyways if u ever get a chance to drive one i think u'll be suprised!

dark0821 05-30-2009 09:39 AM

ummm..you know the boxter is one of the better handling sports car out there right? cuz of the MR layout.. it pulls crazy Gs on the skidpad... ad for S2k, man....its just.. top down FTW xD.. even though V-tec never kicks in :D till its too late hahaa

Agreed. It's the feeling of driving that car. A higher horsepower car may not give you as much thrill as driving a car like this.
But yea, are any of you tagging along with the SFASC crew tonight :p?
