xxTypeRxx 05-29-2009 11:52 PM

Would acetone damage the car's clear coat and paint?

weitaro 05-30-2009 12:16 AM

nice British Green Racing stripe!

joke aside... definitely try some low abrasive compound.

TOPEC 05-30-2009 12:28 AM

grad prank?

but try clay bar first, it'll be slow, but it should be able to remove the green paint without damaging the car's original paint much.

Harvey Specter 05-30-2009 12:46 AM

Wow, wtf....

Post in the car detailing section, I'm sure someone will be able to give you more information if it's possible to remove it with a buffer.

!Tigger 05-30-2009 12:49 AM

clay bar works... it happened to my parents car a long time ago too...

yoall 05-30-2009 07:31 AM

nail polish remover?

Acetone is to strong. you must water it down.

Good luck. I hate people who does things like that. WTF.

ilvtofu 05-30-2009 07:45 AM

i wonder if u can write it off and get a fancy new paintjob on that section

asian_XL 05-30-2009 08:08 AM

DO NOT DO ANYTHING...

drive your car to ICBC...those inspectors there will do the magic for you. It's free.

ilvtofu 05-30-2009 08:10 AM

yeah man, for the amount of insurance you probably pay on that car, just use it

trd2343 05-30-2009 08:45 AM

Thanks for all the replies + help.
If I am going through ICBC, would I have to pay a deductible for this?

ilvtofu 05-30-2009 08:49 AM

yup, so it'll probably be more expensive than the above said methods to remove it.

iamed 05-30-2009 11:04 AM

for a job like this, the inspectors will probably do it for you for free. They're probably just going to rub it off with methods posted above anyway

bob_chan 05-30-2009 12:49 PM

I hate vandals..... :flamemad:

If they do, make sure you polish it after. The stuff they use might be hard on you clearcoat.

124Y 05-31-2009 02:37 AM

It makes me furious just thinking how immature one can be vandalizing other's properties... don't they have any empathy? What if I did that to their car?

But yea, try using a clay bar...

fliptuner 05-31-2009 10:09 PM

Fuck buddy, try living in Coquitlam when that piece of shit, cocksucker was running around for months, keying cars.

ilvtofu 05-31-2009 10:14 PM

only takes a couple of lowlifes to make anything (such as car ownership, jobs etc.) so much worse. Disgusting.

My friend lives in Coq, his car got keyed along with his whole neighboorhood... I think there was a lot of news story's on this.

If i saw someone Vandalize someones cars I'd stock them, and god knows what I'd do.

thumper 06-01-2009 06:50 AM

will he be required to file a police report for a vandalism claim?
