profanity in license plates
 

might not be the right place to post this but anyways.....

saw a 4th gen honda civic driving down 49th with the plates XXX FAK. (XXX being numbers i dont remember)

I thought this would be one of those banned plates....

and the other day as i was driving my bro to school in the morning before i go to work. I saw a Ford Explorer by DT secondary school with plates "HOT DAM". I wanted to snap a picture but it turned into an alley and i was in a hurry to get to work.

maybe these plates were obtained before ICBC decided to censor plates?

maybe this thread is a waste of time? I do not see how FAK is profanity.

I saw a car with the license plate "JER" the other day. Pretty sure whoever's approving these custom plates isn't Cantonese haha.

FAK isn't close enough to "fuck" to be removed. I don't think FOK is either.

FUK, on the other hand, I can see being close enough... but I don't know whether those were removed or not.

HOT DAM isn't profanity or derogatory or an insult... it's just slang... don't see why they would need to disallow that.

Yeah...honestly, I don't see XXX FAK as profanity... XXX FUK maybe though.

Those plates with numbers mixed in with letters are for vehicles with owners who have and know how to operate a certain radio - it's to be of assistance when there is a disaster or something.

One of the cooler ones I've seen is from a BMW - license plate AWW 323.
