Plane Travel + laptop; do I need any special adaptor? I remember reading somewhere that on someone's international flight, they needed a special adaptor for power to plug it in. I'll be going to Korea (Korean Air) in July, and I'm wondering whether or not I'll have to look for an adaptor for either my plug or my Power Supply. I've got a Dell Mini9 with the stock adaptor (100-240V input, 19V output) if that's important at all. Thanks, y'all. |
I don't know if it is still in effect, but Korea Air banned all Macbooks and Dell laptops back in 2006 due to risk of battery explosion. If they haven't lifted that policy, you wont be able to use your dell on the plane. Tell us your plane model, it will help to determine the style of adapter you will need. |
Flying on a Boeing 777. |
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Kor...ng_777-200.php Just your regular AC adapter should work. Make sure you take out your battery or they might not let you use your Dell. Even without the battery, they might still be picky so I suggest you bring a bottle of soju and kimchi as bribes to the flight attendants. |
they have 2 configuration of the 777. I had to fly the older 777 config (without power plug) last nov out of YVR to ICN. Make sure you know which config it'll be .. or the adapter will be useless. |
