What are you doing to combat this heat for your pet??

Its crazy hot, dogs cant sweat, not sure about cats. my dog is an indoor outdoor dog. at night, when comes in and sleeps, he sleeps in the a/c'd room.

during the day, when he likes to be outside, i drop some cubes of ice for him from time to time, and have the water misters going. on top of that, we actually bought a kiddy pool for the guy. we found he was a water dog when as a puppy he liked sitting in a 1.5ft high 1/2 barrel of water... funny dog!

keep ur pets cool!

we shaved our dog (terrier x shitzu)....lol.
he has a automatic cool water dispenser and a small fan going in the house for him...for most of the morning/afternoon.

my dog - golden doodle

he's going to get shaved. but in the mean time, he gets lots of ice and water. i also froze some yogurt and give him yogurt cubes as treats. and of course, the a/c and fan is on all day. the strange thing is, he doesn't seem to like having the fan blow on him for too long. he'll get up and walk away from it.

shaving suddenly after the heat hits actually doesn't help keep the pet cool,it will actually make their body have to work harder. The dogs hair works to keep the natural a/c that their body creates stay in. If you do shave after the heat hits just make sure you give their body a week to get use to it before you take them out in the heat.

the fan is going ... my dog just lays there infront of the fan. Also brought in the water barrel so he has access to water at any time

Don't forget to bring a bottle of water for your dog if you're taking them out for a jog/long walk!

53day old siberian husky

I've got the AC on full blast for me and him. When july hits and it's 100% humidity and 40degrees in korea, i think he'll just sleep in the fridge, and i'll take the freezer

Well our walks have been altered to being at 8pm and later. My old guy has decided that the only thing to do outside in this heat/sunshine is to find shade and flop down.
My Terv is probably jumping in the fish pond at my dad's aunts (his new home).

Ha ha, same as my Rotty and I. Later walks and she just finds shade when I'm outside working on the house/car.

She's just over 12 now and can no longer run. We can only walk every other night since she started limping for a day following a decent walk (2-3k).

my cousins dog doesnt like to be shaved, so we have a kiddy pool outside with water for it, and the garage door on the side of the house opened for it to walk in and out

Water fountain for our cat. Leave the ceiling fan and floor fan running while we're away.

I go for walks by the river so he can have something nice and cold drink if he needs or can swim in a natural pool or sumtin. On real hot days at home I give him ice water, we take cold showers together and he pretty much just sits in front of the fan. When we walk on a hot day and he is off his leash its pretty funny he just runs to each shade spot and lays down and waits till I walk by then runs to the next one lol.
