Will i have problems importing this?

My brother has developed a strong interest in Left 4 Dead and while browsing for something for his birthday i found this:

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/81/24...eb10db6e1d.jpg

It looks like the easiest thing to make

make a wood box, Red Spray paint, White Decals, Plastic Cap Gun/ BB Gun, Piece of plastic/ Glass, Hot Glue and small Tea-Light Candle Box with a printed out picture of the top of an ammo box (cardboard).

Easy Enough!

Now the problem...

Am i going to have a problem importing a plastic replica gun into Canada from China or the States? I planned on using ebay to find what i'm looking for. The only worry is having it confiscated at customs.. i hope thats the only worry...

I've looked around and can't seem to find things that have decent detail. All the plastic guns i see are all cheap, one-colour, etc. I'm not too worried about the orange tip as i can remove it or paint it.

I want to start putting this together sometime this week. Thanks in advance!

Maybe call Canadian Border Services Agency to find out?

IF you can find an airsoft gun (post a wanted thread on Craigslist) that'll be exactly what you're looking for.

Also, go to the army surplus store (New West or Broadway near the Skytrain station) and find some dud ammo. It'll look better if you mount 6 instead of a box, but a box will do in a pinch.

Also, you can do the same thing with a sawed-off shotgun (toy store, etc) and shotgun shells.

More than likely your package will get inspected, but should be fine if you label it clearly as toy etc.

Call border patrol and have them answer your q for certaintly, and if not, just look for someone with an airsoft (as mentioned above).

Just sneak it across in your checked-in luggage. On the package itself, securely stick a label on the gun saying "TOY ONLY".

omg that is sooo cute.

Get a high res photo of the case/gun, and make a large print of it at one of those photo printing places.

You could go to daiso, or any dollar store, and buy a toy gun and spray paint the whole thing flat black. The reflection off the plexiglas cover will make it hard to tell if it's fake right away.

If you want a real ammo box, i can mail you an empty one. Just pm me.

Yeah, dollar-store cap guns are good options, and the ammo box like other people have mentioned can be found at surplus stores. It's pretty likely that the Glock-style guns are already black, except for the plastic on the end of the barrel, which might be orange.

By the way, that box is actually pretty damn sweet.
