That top pic hardly looks like the same person! I thought you were joking until I saw the other two.

I think that's a decent and achievable goal.

Like I said, I would never hope to look like Frank Zane, that's just too much. But a body like that, I could accomplish. Maybe not quite so lean though ;)

jakobi 06-11-2009 05:44 AM

this looks like a body of a 15 year old boy

Ryan Reynold in Blade. But that's just wishful thinking

CanadaGoose 06-11-2009 09:27 PM

^ Why is that wishful thinking. He's a man, you're a man.

You may not to able to accomplish that in such a short time like he did, but if you make it a long term goal, you'll get there.

SkinnyPupp 06-11-2009 09:44 PM

The 165-175 is possible, but I don't know how you plan to gain 4 inches of height.

Batista just had surgery this week to repair another muscle tear. I think he has torn his quads, both triceps, and now his biceps. Yeah, that body might look good, but it sure as hell isn't very functional.

chr1s 06-12-2009 04:59 AM

Now: 5'5 160lbs. BP: 165 Squat: 225 DL: 315
Yes weak stats.

But I'm working towards:
BP: 225 Squat: 300 DL: 400
w/ body weight of 170ish

bcedhk 06-12-2009 05:20 AM

Rain's body is pretty much what most korean/chinese guys wants. Rain's diet i heard was like chicken breast + vege's for 3 months...

I tried it, and gave up after 2 weeks haaha

All these posts and not one person wanting to train for strength for sports, just looks and vanity.

I want to get my bench press back to using 110lb dumbbells for a full 4 sets. Put up 95lb for 1 set this week.

Not everyone has the same goals. Some want to improve their physique, some want to become better athletes, some want to lift heavier weights. Nobody has the right to tell someone that their goals are wrong. Methods fine, but not goals ;)

I didn't tell anyone they were wrong, stop assuming. :p

Its just funny of your list, no-one has mentioned the ones I underlined. I guess I play too many sports and enjoy beer too much :D I'd rather be able to push opponents around and enjoy beers with my teammates than have ripped abs and little body fat

RacePace 06-12-2009 09:39 AM

I hinted it a bit. Depends on the sport and how competitive you are. If you're a hardcore competitor, you wouldn't be drinking any alcohol.

jakobi 06-12-2009 06:12 PM

i powerlift and do strongman training...
i never care much about looks but i do watch what i eat...i care more about strength than looks...for me its 1, strength, 2, endurance 3, looks

I know, but some people have a terrible attitude when it comes to this sort of thing. They see someone doing squats for 15 reps instead of 2, and shoot the stinkeye in their direction. Not everyone cares about being able to lift a heavy weight. Its those guys girlfriends who want to fuck the ripped muscular guys ;)

I say it's wishful thinking because I don't have the time to hit the gym 5-6 times a week and stay there for 2 hrs. I go whenever I have adequate inbetween days from my 2 hockey team games. I also started P90X and realistically, I can't really go all that hard at the gym anyway. I do autobody, and whenever I'm sore, it feels like I have 20lb weights on my arms while I'm sanding and that paintgun I hold, all the sudden feels like 50 lbs, especially when I'm painting a hood or roof.

Also sucks when I'm really sore while playing hockey. I also do more strength and hockey related workouts more than body building workouts.

I don't see why you should be ashamed of those stats. They aren't that bad. Not strongman heavy, but still decent.

I usually do more hockey oriented workouts.

I think the realistic thing is to realize what body type and shape you have. Some people will never be able to look like someone they idolize just due to muscle and bone structure. I know my bodytype and know what I can reasonably expect to look like as long as I keep lifting.... as for Jakobi's list :D I go 1. Looks 2. Strength 3. Endurance.

Berz out.

jakobi 06-12-2009 09:45 PM

i want to look like mariusz Pudz from the worlds strongest man...realistic wise, that'll never happen because you need huge amount of steroids/good genetics to achieve that and I'll never touch 'roids....
looks was my first choice when i first started working out...doing biceps and abs 5 times a week...but i got bored of doing them so i decided to work on strength/challenge myself instead...also there's no reason for being fat
