Shopping Online Precautionary Methods

So what are you're guys' precautionary methods. And what are you tells if a site is legit or not.

I'm basically trying to buy a Macross Plus Die Cast Model.

a link which I found using google. But I can't tell whether this site is legit or not. What irks my suspicion is that this vendor doesn't even provide any more contact other than an e-mail, and doesn't have much store info. But I am aware that there are some legitimate vendors out there that are purely internet sales.

Any tips?

Since you can use Paypal, you'll be protected. Hell, using your credit card anywhere, you'll be pretty well protected.
