ML slicing front of Camry on oak So i was driving northbound on Oak alongside a New black ML, I think a 550? 500? don't remember but it was nice and shiny with tons of chrome. And this camry is on 50something facing West, and wants to turn left on OAK!!!! This was around 1:30 today, so the street was pretty packed, and there was no traffic lights, just a stop sign. Camry was a current model too in that tealy greenish silvery colour, but i don't think it was a hybrid, no idea, The camry nudges forward to see and the ML brushes the side against it and I hear a huge screech, (amazed how good the MLs brakes were we were going at least 60), and the 50 ish chinese guy steps out and so does the younger male in the Camry, neways I continued driving as not to hold up traffic. :) So yeah that was fun, the front plates were torn off, I wanted to say I was a witness, but then the camry would be at fault neways cos it was coming out of a small street with a stop sign so It shouldn't matter. Pretty cool accident I must say, but those minor damages on the ML are most likely going to cost upwards of 10k, since all the passengers side was probably scraped, I looked over at the camry's bumper and that was all that needed to be replaced. So lucky that the ML didn't swerve and run over my little car, would've been toast! |
anyone else see this? |
wow but maybe you should have stopped incase there weren't anymore witnesses ...and 10k worth of damage on the ML??? shiiiiiit |
i wouldve stopped and asked if they wanted help =P |
^^ well I would assume worse case scenario everything from the bumper, headlights, doors, fenders would have to be replaced, had the whole car just scraped past, maybe even rear bumper But minimum and most likely would be bumper, fenders, and headlights because thats probably the part that clipped it. which would probably be an easy 4-5k right there on a benz |
PICS! |
Like I said, I didn't pull over, but you can imagine it yourself, not really that interesting, the camry's front bumper had a wide black mark and had it's plates torn off, didn't even see the ML |
its okay, the chinese guy can just buy another one |
Never assume it's that obvious. Always stop and be a witness. The ML driver could still get the shaft in some way if the Camry driver is dishonest. ICBC will say your words against his and be unable to prove anything. Being a witness helps immensely. Kev |
^ should i report it to ICBC and say that I saw this happen? |

Imagine if you got into a accident not your fault and you know there are witnesses, but dont help you and drive away, then the other person lies about the accident and it becomes 50/50... I would feel pretty shitty if I were in your shoes... |
neone point me in the direction to where on the ICBC site I can say i'm a witness, don't really wanna call them. |
